The preschool years provide a unique window of opportunity, with children soaking up knowledge, social skills and behaviours rapidly. We recognise this and ensure we provide a diverse, stimulating and magical education to nourish their natural creativity.
All of our teaching comes with a firm Arts backbone, which we believe leads to maximum learning benefits. Literacy, numeracy, science and fluency in English are never compromised. Teaching children these fundamental skills via different, stimulating mediums, such as rhythm, dance, artistic techniques, story-telling and drama, helps to make the learning experience enjoyable, memorable and more permanent.
Most importantly, we provide our children with the opportunity to look at the world differently, understanding there are multiple perspectives, and prompting them to be curious, inquisitive and open minded.
The Curriculum
Exploration of the Arts is at the heart of everything we do. We strive to enable children to come into contact with spectacular artistic creations, old and new, from all over the world, not just those designed for children. Shakespeare, Monet, Mozart…… we believe that all of these works can be enjoyed by young people, and provide inspiration for their lifelong learning. We follow, and assess, children using the academic and developmental standards set out by the British Early Years Foundation Stages curriculum.
The Perfect Location
Situated in the cultural heart of Tokyo, a few minutes walk from Omotesando and Gaienmae stations, Clarence International School is a beautiful, bright and sunny building set over four floors. Seinan Elementary School, Aoyama Children’s Centre and Matsuyama Ballet School are all in the vicinity. There is a children’s park three minutes walk away, where the children go for their daily play.
The inside of the school building boasts brand new specially designed classrooms, library, quiet area and play areas.
