The Role
As Deputy Head (Pastoral), you will play a pivotal role in fostering a supportive and inclusive school culture. Reporting directly to the Principal, you will lead the pastoral strategy, ensuring the wellbeing and personal development of every student. This is an exciting opportunity to shape the lives of young people while working alongside a committed senior leadership and pastoral team.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and develop the school’s pastoral care programme to the highest standard.
Oversee safeguarding, ensuring the welfare and safety of all students.
Alongside the Assistant Head (Wellbeing), champion initiatives that promote emotional resilience, diversity, and inclusion.
Support staff in managing student expectations, attendance and engagement.
Build strong relationships with students, parents, and external partners.
Lead on the Co-curricular programme.
Contribute to the strategic leadership and overall direction of the school.
About You
You will be an inspiring leader with a proven track record in pastoral care and a deep commitment to the all-round development of young people.
You will bring:
Experience: Significant experience in a leadership role, at middle or senior level. Experience in an independent school is not essential.
Qualifications: A strong academic background and relevant teaching or pastoral qualifications; DSL qualified.
Skills: Exceptional communication, leadership and problem-solving abilities.
Passion: A genuine enthusiasm for student and staff development, and the ability to inspire others.
