We welcome students aged 16 and over from Stockport, High Peak, Tameside and beyond. Whether you are visiting as a potential student, a parent or member of staff, or are simply interested in finding out more about us, we hope you will find the site informative and useful.

We offer a wide range of courses, A Levels, BTECs and Apprenticeships all of which can lead to university, further training or directly into employment.

For the vast majority of our students progress to university – and many have gone on to study at Oxford, Cambridge or Russell Group institutions. For others a more vocational route may be preferred – which is why we also offer an exciting and diverse programme of courses and extra-curricular activities linked to business, careers and enterprise.

In either case we look to help our students maximise their full potential and equip them to pursue whichever pathway they choose to take in the future.

Our Latest Ofsted  
In October 2017 Marple Sixth Form, and its sister institution The Cheadle College, were inspected by Ofsted.

We were awarded a ‘Good’ rating and were highly praised for our approach to raising standards through our “inspirational leadership, collective will and passion of staff”.

Ofsted also highlighted the positive and progressive culture embedded throughout both colleges and cited us as having “a friendly positive learning environment that appeals to the great majority of students” and “a dynamic and relentless culture of improvement”.

The report goes on to conclude that the institution is “ambitious to be an outstanding college within its community, and for its community”.

Our Latest Exam Results
Students at The Cheadle College and Marple Sixth Form College celebrated another year of excellent results in 2017.  A Levels and Advanced Vocational qualification results have maintained the upward trend of success and achievement for the past four years.

A Level pass rate 99.0% high grade passes 68.4% 100% pass rate on all vocational courses with 85% high grade achievement.
